Conservation & Ecotourism

Miombo Lodge is also the base for successful conservation & community programmes, championed by African Impact which attracts eco-tourists from around the world. 

One such volunteer programme – The Elephant and Wildlife Monitoring and Conservation Education programme allows eco-tourists to experience the African bush in a very special way, working alongside experienced field guides on elephant and wildlife monitoring initiatives in Hwange National Park. The programme begins with a one-week bush awareness course, which offers the eco-tourist an amazing insight into the characteristics of the African bush as well as local cultures and customs in Zimbabwe. 

Miombo Lodge and its eco-tourists assist with conservation education within the community and at the Red Cross Centre and Orphanage in Dete which is home to 300 children.
